Yanno I was just reading Joes post about getting berated for being a bad player and it struck me at the insanity and double standards of Badger Poker. Maybe if the leader set better examples some things may not happen. People have been banned for berating other thin skinned people. Yet who is that screaming at the 1/2 table? A 1/2 player throws and breaks another players cellphone and that player in turn calls the police putting the very existence of BP at risk. They are both back the next night. People call someone handicapped because they didnt like the way he played a hand and the way he looks and they come back whenever they want. Maybe I should just have played drunk at BP all the time so when I act like an ass ( and I do) then I can just blame it on the alcohol and say oh hey I'm sorry but it will probably happen again. Or maybe I can just get drunk and throw another players sunglasses and break them when they suck out on me on the river. Or scream and threaten to ban someone that sucked out on me. Or maybe I should just show up all G'd out and scream the N word at the top of my lungs 500 times a night. Why does no one get offended by that word getting screamed all night but they get offended that I or someone else calls them a bad player? If it could be figured out how to not have the freeroll and and have BP still get paid from the bars I am quite sure there would be no more freeroll. All the freerollers are seen as is dollar signs not people that have supported BP for 5 years. Things are so weak that one new player says has more merit than someone that has supported BP for years. People that played in the sweatbox restaurant on Monona Dr. People that drove all the way the Warehouse Stage to play in the dark. People that were crammed into Rustys. Or maybe its just society that says everything has to politcally correct and no one should speak their mind cuz it might hurt someone itty bitty feelings. We must be sure to keep everyones self esteem at BP up cuz we all know that every there has so many redeeming qualities to offer society. It doesnt matter if people are smoking pot in the parking lot or snorting coke in the bathroom or selling drugs to other players just please for god sake dont tell anyone they are a bad player. Free speech sucks. Just act like robots and dont show any personality at the table and BP will once again be jammed to the rafters. Or at the very least Linda will be back. -

i dont really care either way because me being berated by people doesnt bother me that much because im confident in my own abilities...but berating people for bad play is bad business. i know i have done it, i try my best not to. linda came out to bp and gave her money away, berating her is bad for your wallet, you want her confident and willing to gamble. the same goes for most of the people that play there. sorry if youre getting sucked out on regularly, but you should be happy that people want to play bad and try to give you their money. -

Bad play wasnt really the point of my post. I totally encourage bad play. I want people calling with a 25% hand I just dont want them to hit and jump up and rub it in my face. There is a total double standard at BP some people can act however they want while others cant. Like I said some people can scream the N word at the top of their lungs 50 times a night and no one is offended yet people get offended by being called a bad player or getting questioned as to WTF they were doing in the hand. Now that I am gone BP will return to its glory days of 2 years ago. -

Hahahaha...woah woah woah. I didn't call anyone handi-capped because of they way they looked. You made that leap all by yourself. I got really drunk and called the final table of the finals poker handi-capped, and yeah, it was a dick move, but whatever. I'm not going to apologize for it anymore, I've apologized to a couple of the people, and if that isn't good enough, then I don't really give a shit anymore. Of course there are double standards, but you have to admit yourself Frank that you put yourself in a lot of bad situations, moreso than your average BP player. I"m not saying you shouldn't be yourself...but I think sometimes you should tone it down, and I think to some respect you might even agree with me, but maybe not. A lot of what you said is true I think...but you can't control that shit.
Why were you banned? Christ I don't know anything anymore. -

Pretty good post Frank, you made some valid points about how the average freeroll player sees all this shit and doesent come back. I supported bp for a long ass time, but if your not a 1/2 regular gay crew of 7-8 people then you are held at another standard. The reality is none of those fucking idiots can strap my core group of friends jocks at poker but since they play the "big" game [lmao they think they run some high stake affair cause a guy wearing ambercrambi and fitch at 45 years old is the dealer] they have entitlement. Its not a big mystery why most of the old regulars have disapered. I really dont care either way about the poker, I play online, but some of the shit you run into and see there makes me want to shoot people. Also F frank. -

I totally admit that I am over the top alot of times and I agree that I should have been reprimanded and I have been but thats just me being me. Last time I checked this was America. I am all for people being themselves as long as I am allowed to be me too. I think the people that helped BP to be what it is ( or should I say was) have been sorely forgotten at the sake of new people so the new people keep BP limping along as long as possible. If I misunderstood the handicapped comment I apologize. But being drunk is no excuse for anything. I make mistakes and own up to it whether I am drunk , high or have amnesia

I think for the most part we've always gotten along Frank, I just took exception to some of your original post there.
I'm not saying that being drunk is a valid excuse, but it is the truth. Someone's behavior after a lot of alcohol is going to be different. If I need to be reprimanded for this behavior...whatever, fine. I have stated in now numerous threads that I admit to being in the wrong about some stuff.
So what should be done to make the average freeroll player more valued? I'd like to hear everyone's input on this. -

Well I hope Scotty can address this. I have enjoyed BP for many years. Everyone knows frank crosses the line, but as he pointed out, he isnt the only one. And things have been getting a little out of hand. I havent been around in a month, so I don't know how things are going. But I heard of the Bruce incident. It was certainly fortunate that the authorites stayed on task. I had my tires slashed one night. I did not call the authorites, which I normally would have. This is because I respect BP, and am grateful to have found it over the past few years.
That being said, there are some things going on that are jepordising the great thing we all share. I have been getting annoyed by it myself. We should be doing all that we can to make sure everyone who attends BP is happy and satisfied that a clean game is being run. Free rollers, and other players alike. Because the more disgruntled players we create, the increased likelihood that this can all be taken away from us. The "big game" has started to feel stale. It feels like a BP home game. And this may be what Scotty wants. But i think you start getting into sticky situations when you play favorites, and you bump people on waitng lists, and you change games without concern of the table preference forcing dead money to walk away big winners.
Frank, in all honesty you do hurt Scotty business. And other players behavior does as well. Most of the free rollers just want a place to socialize and hang-out. they have no intentions of becoming a pro. i think all that is needed is a universal policy that everyone is held to. In ALL games played at BP large and small. -

I got punched in the side of the head and ended up with a concussion but I didnt file a police report for the same reason. I have never assaulted anyone or broken anyones property.
