First off, as a regular participant of the "big game", I will echo Scuba's comments regarding the new rules and etiquette at the table. They are being enforced without prejudice. I have seen the dealers give verbal warnings, soft penalties (dealing out for a round), and hard penalties (getting kicked off the table for the night). Having weathered the storm of uncertainty regarding the continuation of the "big game" at BP, I am happy to see these enforcements. Problems are being dealt with immediately, and this is the key to keeping things from getting out of hand as they have in the past.

I do not, however, share Scuba's optimism that this impact will filter down to the other games. I just don't see how this is going to happen by osmosis. The people playing the 25/50 and freeroll tables very seldom pay attention to what is going on at the 1-2. Without active pressure, I do not see why the general behavior at those tables would change.

I am glad to hear that things have changed in that game, I just hope that the change is permanent...and old habits are not slipped into.

No way in hell this trickles down to the other games. The only game that gets any credence is the 1/2 game. The other games are a nuisnace. Someone would have to be put in charge to enforce those rules that Scotty trusts to handle it with tact. Who is there every night for the 25/50 game? Harry?

Frank is the only reason I come to play.

BTW - I just donked off my entire bankroll at UB. A guy comes to the cheap tables with $25,000 and is going All In everyhand so I get my bankroll just in case I get AA. He says he is leaving when the blind gets to him and so I call his 86o with AQo - yep, broke, damn - I could have lost it at BP.

Funny how all of you call it "the big game" Like you can win a bracelet, ring, trophy or anything of worth besides maybe 1000 snickers! And Heath from what i hear is your game has gotten alot worse since joining that game. The knowledge you take from that game is only good in one place and that is there at that table. There is more actual "poker" being played at the crappy 1-2 game at ho-chunk. 80% of the time at BP deepest pockets win as long as you have a lick of poker skill or get beat to death with some cards. Not to say there arent good players but poker is a strategy game and from where i see it BP is mostly gambling by the process of shove and hope!

I don't understand your argument here, Peter. Your argument with a change in Heath's game is that you can only use it at the BP 1/2 game table. Well...I know Heath reasonably well, granted I am not writing his biography but one of the only places he plays live is the BP 1/2 game so why not tailor your game to that particular setting? I have played with him at Ho-chunk before and his game is suited for these two arenas because people have no memories and don't fold, tight players feast on these idiots. That doesn't mean your game has gotten worse, that just means you understand your surroundings. I'm not saying that Heath has a million gears and is some mad poker genius, but he's frequently underestimated, and is a winning player which is more than I can say for almost anyone else in that game. Nothing to me more hilarious than someone coming into a 1/2 game at ho-chunk and using a bunch of metagame (MEEEEEETAAAAAAGAAAAAAAME, that was for you Dawg) and setting up all these creative plays. Just play your hands, don't slowplay monsters very often and bluff carefully, only c-bet against small fields and certain board textures and you'll be fine. Of course there's bad beats too but...fuck.

The overall point I'm making here is I guess I just don't really like calling out someone for having a collapsing game when you won't even say who the hell you are. I find it highly likely that your opinion on poker is probably irrelevant anyway, until you prove me wrong...because as you have said, there's just so many damn idiots out there when it comes to this game. I am by no means calling myself a pro, keep in mind. I have a lot of improving to do.

I don't mean this as a personal attack, because there is no person to attack! The whole hidden forum name thing is occasionally funny as a gimmick, but when you want to have serious conversation, I just think it's hilariously stupid. I can't really take this seriously. Of course I can't take the BP forum serious in general so...oh well.

There are few bigger critics of the big game's players, (with some exceptions) and its effect on BP than me (I play it it once upon a blue moon because I think it's really easy to beat), but people aren't calling it the big game in an ultra serious context. It's almost always referred to as the big game in quotes for a reason, because people understand the humor in that. There are some players in it that think that they are big shots just because they sit there, but I don't think any of them are in this thread.

    Now I'm going to bed.

Oh, and who is ready for monopoly night at BP a week from this Friday? I haven't been there in a while, but I think what they need is a bunch of drunk guys yellin' about "those goddamn red properties".
