Well, instead of me waiting for you to gather you thoughts about your feeling of strangeness, let me just walk thru my line:
limped pot. 5-way. I am second to act, and am in a blind postion. I take the overall approach of betting alot of flops. I like to bet paired flops and flops with aces in limp pots often. I noticed in my last post, i didnt pay attention to suits when posting the flop. There was actually two to a flush on it. Makes a difference in the line, however, i prob lead a dry flop the same way as well. I want value from flush draws. I want to leverage my image of betting alot of flops. I want hands calling me light. many hands are likely to call my flop bet, ranging from pair of 5's, flush draws, pockets pairs, big aces, and the gold mine flopped trips. I certainly like the line of leading out, getting called light, or having players re-raise me to find out where they are at on this flop, rather then trapping and calling. It builds the pot larger. When he min-raised, he could be doing that with the draw, with a king, or with many hands to test where he was at. I smooth-called feinting weakness and/or the draw. i cehcked the turn to continue to represent a draw and/or weakness. once he got more money in, i popped it for value. The ace on the river kills my advantage in the hand. If he has missed draws, he wont call a river bet, if he has a king we are chopping, and he gets all the money in with a king or ace. so my only line was to check/call on the river, as i didnt think he had an ace.
