If dog is who I believe he is, a good poker player indeed. Get that guy a toothbrush and a new wardrobe and he's WSOP material. Is Tina the loud obnoxious one? If so, not good. Best BP tournament player is, in my opinion, is Tim Eagen. He's only played a few times that I've seen, but made it deep everytime. You might recognize the name if you knew the face. I feel that the free roll is harder to weed your way through than any cash tourny around. Loose cannons every where with nothing to lose.........a recipe for poker disaster!

Bad play doesnt make weeding through donkees "harder". A tournament with a better field of players is certainly "harder" than the free roll. You are put to much tougher decisions. Avoiding bad luck isnt "hard", its just a matter of chance.

    the freeroll isnt hard.

just learn pot control for early.

    learn push/fold for late.

the way people play at bp, just shove in every hand after the 2nd hour.

that should put even the worst players at the final table 20% of the time.

As one of the freeroll players I will admit I wish I was as good as some of the people on here think they are.

thats unfortunate for you, because confidence is something any good player needs
if you dont think you have an edge on your competition, then your game selection sucks which directly relates to how "good" you are at poker

Actually I think it is the opposite. I know where I am on the poker food chain and can pick my game better the rare occasions that I do sit down at a cash game. I respect those that are better than me and dont mess with them until I have to and have the cards to do so.

But I guess I don't really call those that play the free badger poker tournies "donks" or refer to them as bad players because those that may seem bad are more than likely newer to poker and using the free games as practice. Also remember that if it wasn't for the 40-60 free tournament players showing up every night supporting the bars the 1 or 2 tables of cash games wouldn't exist there.

actually...it appears those 40-60 players showing up every night have nothing to do now.

What happened last night (Tuesday)? Did they play? I wasn't able to go but haven't heard if they played or not.

Posted By: areamantourney players by nature are donks.
the reason why tourney players have an advantage in tourneys over cash game players is because of their ability to manage short stacks....but the people at bp are so clueless when it comes to stack management i hardly think it applies. which basically means, theyre terrible.

    quoted from another thread
do you understand why or do i need to explain?
and fwiw i dont mean bp tourney players, im talking about ALL TOURNEY PLAYERS, people that specialize in tournament play, and do not play cash.
