you think the guys that smooth called your 35 dollar bet are thinking the same thing?

furthmore...i dont think it says "im not afraid of anything", i think it says "im trying to showdown a king here as cheap as possible", "i got a big diamond, i have outs"

if smooth calling was a signal of hand strength you should straight fold, cause it sounds like scotty has a monster overcalling here...gotta have k7, 77, or kk.

Its hard to guess what people would think sure, but im not smooth calling a King there into a 4-way action pot, and three diamonds on the board. Im folding or pushing a king there. It is a little late to think about keeping the pot small with a King. A smooth call to me makes me think more of a nut-flush, or boat, or maybe just the nut flush draw. A push makes me think more of a king. Thus Dooley and Scott were getting real good odds to get their short stack in with an Ace of diamonds if they had one. Again, the raise promotes more action then the smooth call in my opinion. Im looking to get a stack in on the turn.

Play the game that you are at, not the one you dream to be in. I have played many venues, Poto, chunk, Vegas, Cali, any game you name around here, and I havent found many others that have a significantly better level of play than BP. I played a 3-5 ring at the MGM that was the best game I have ever played at. Half the table were semi-pros in from other countries for the WSOP. The other half were donkeys. The good players knew who to stay away from and who to target. Poker is all about adapting to situations. Maybe you will find an ideal poker game, that has to be played on a second, third, and even fourth level. If you find that game, let me know, cuz I don't think Im getting any better playing at BP. Until then, the 1-2 game is a nice hobby that makes me some extra cash.

I havent read any of the replies but I tend to agree with areaman actually in this case. Your arguement for 3 betting all in is because you didnt want a scare card to peel off on the river and not get paid by scott or duly. That thinking is a bit off when you consider moving in there only peter can call you where as you smooth call the raise and get action behind and a brick peels off you have a chance to get more value, or say another diamond does peel off its not the worse thing in the world if someone is in there with the ACE. I agree with your play to an extent and its easy to say the pots big enough but your argument is a little scewed. Not only that but you can do damage controll because we can assume a king is not folding and if you smooth call and the river is a 7 you can conclude your losing now. It wouldnt matter if you moved in or not on the turn but you lose a little value isolating everyone else of the pot.

I wasn't worried about Scott and Duly. I didn't want a scare card to peel off to lose value from Peter. I put Peter on the flush. Dooley and or Scott could of had a king or Ace of diamonds. Given their stack, if they had a king or ace of daimonds, there is a real good chance they get their stack in no matter what i do here, based on them being shorter stacked then Peter and I. So i wasnt concerned about them at all. I figure, they either have a hand to get their stack in or not. I was concerned with getting value from Peter.
